Copy the data folder in FOC so that you have the original game in case you want to play that. I even explained what I have in B in my previous post. Perhaps you should pay attention to context.
STAR WARS EMPIRE AT WAR GAMERANGER HOW TO
you dont need any backups to run vanilla :| just go in sweawg options -> launch options and remove swfoc MODPATH=Mods\> and you successfully switched to vanillaĪ) For My method of Installing the mod "Republic at War" you *do* need backups - since I believe it is much better to install RaW in one location (and since the AI is placed within Corruption/data and CANNOT be moved, it makes more since to consolidate the entire mod into corruption/data - that's where the backup comes in).ī) The context of this post was made in response to a question about how to run mods using Gameranger - and since Gameranger does not use Steam's "Launch Options" the only way I see fit without anyway to mod the "launch options" of Gameranger's launch is to run the mods directly - again requiring a backup of the vanilla data folder found within Corruption. 'As of May 31, 2014, online functionality, including network multiplayer and wireless chat, will no longer be available for this title,' the Steam page reads.

Either use the method I told you, or don't play mods online (because there is no other way at this time). Star Wars: Empire at War: Gold Pack will go offline on May 31 due to GameSpy's shutdown, according to both games' Steam page. What Gameranger does is run the game directly, perhaps there are ways to change the "shortcut" that gameranger uses to run the game so that you could modpath that way. Any suggestion Ps: first time using the gameranger. Either use the method I told you, or don't play mods online (because there is no other way at this time). im trying to use the gamer ranger to host and play with my friend, but when i start the game (from gameranger) my friend always ends up on the main menu in the game. As it is, this is the only way to run the mods. There's nothing bad about this method at all, and it allows you to run mods - not my fault if you choose not to use it.

You could even use a compression software to archive and compress the backed up data to make it take up slighly less space. Make two copies of the data folder, one that acts as a backup and one that acts as a vanilla data folder to quickly switch to if you want to play vanilla. That being said, the method is entirely easy. The servers were run by the company "Gamespy" and they recently shut down. I know how to fix this, it is because Retail FoC is by default uncompatible with Steam Foc.Winxomatique lähetti viestin:yeah, but if i want to play a differente mod after that i have to paste the copy from foc and the same thing again, their's no best way, like the steam version for mods ? i mean it a lot more easy. And WHY THE HELL STEAM CLOSE THE SERVER IT WAS RUNNING PERFECLY FINE ? But in FoC we just cant see each other or join the game of the other in gameranger. Originally posted by Cabcoke:So ive tried to play FOC online with an friend who has the non steam version of the game, but i dont really know that this is the main reason this isnt working, for the last 2 days, the normal EaW without addon does work perfectly fine with both gameranger and tunngle. \LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\Data\XML and delete the file "GameConstants.xml". Due to a recent server change by LucasArts the "fix" is currently the reason for the freeze - without it, it works just fine. Tried this Fix with the RAM-Patch for FoC But some friend told me that there are other people too who cannot play EAW online via Gameranger because of Windows 10, but they dont know how to fix this problem. I already applied the RAM fix and did the other things you need to do.
